Jagan loyalist to be suspended
HYDERABAD: Former registrar and Andhra University faculty Prof. P.V.G.D. Prasad Reddy will be suspended by the Telugu Desam government for his involvement in the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy-led Yuvabheri meeting in the university on Tuesday.
Prof. Reddy, known to be a YSR and Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy loyalist, had praised the YSR Congress chief during the Yuvabheri meeting on Tuesday. AP HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said the professor would be suspended pending an inquiry.
Prof. Reddy had been registrar of the Andhra University during the Congress regime and is currently professor in the Computer Science Engineering department. He was earlier involved in a controversy over installing a statue of YSR on the campus.
Prof. Reddy was instrumental in organising the Yuvabheri meeting on the AU campus. Speaking at the meeting, he praised Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy saying that he was the best example of perseverance in the state and was very hardworking with a long-term vision.
Minister Srinivasa Rao said that the professor acted aggressively in the meeting and that too against the government and he would be suspended pending inquiry.
