Apple watch saves teen's life, Tim Cook offers him internship and new iPhone

The Apple Watch prompted the teen of his abnormal heart rate

According to online reports, a 17-year-old Massachusetts teenager, Paul Houle, claims that the Apple Watch saved his life. He said, while playing football at school, he noticed that his heart rate went up to 145 for two hours after practice and the Apple Watch was prompting him to visit a hospital.

After being diagnosed at the hospital, it was discovered that Paul was had rhabdomyolysis, a condition triggered by exercise that can cause muscles to deteriorate and seep proteins.

When the news of the incident reached the Apple CEO Tim Cook, he contact Paul Houle. Cook not only offered Houle a new Apple iPhone, but also a summer internship with the company next year.

Although, Houle’s father was apprehensive in buying him the Watch considering its price, he had insisted to get one. Since the incident, his father is convinced about the smartwatch and plans to get one for himself and his wife.
