Plea to arraign 8 in Abhaya murder case

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CBI special court here has decided to hear a plea to arraign Crime Branch former SP K.T. Michel and seven others in the Abhaya murder case.

The petition filed by human rights activist Jomon Puthenpurackal will be heard on October 20. The petitioner demanded that besides Michel, former RDO S.G.K. Kishore, RDO office staff Aleyamma, clerk K.N. Muraleedharan, maids at Pius X convent hostel Achamma and Thressyamma, Abhaya's roommate Sherly and CBI former SP V. Tyagarajan should be arraigned on the basis of the CBI's inquiry reports. He also urged that the trial into the case should commence without delay.
