MoU signed to create wildlife awareness among students
Tiruchy: The Post-graduate and Research Department of Zoology, Holy Cross College, and the Society for Conservation of Nature (SOFCON) has signed a memorandum of understanding to create awareness among students on wildlife, provide training to them by wildlife experts, and arrange field trips.
The MoU was signed during the national wildlife week celebrations organised jointly by the Post-graduate and Research Department of Zoology, Holy Cross College, and the Society for Conservation of Nature (SOFCON) here on Monday.
SOFCON president V. Sundararaju spoke on Save the tiger’ while S. Vaigai Mani Sankar, former Deputy Conservator of Forests, spoke on wildlife management.
There was a short film on the Indian Tiger.
The three-day event, to conclude on September 23, will feature talks on topics like Job opportunities in the Forest Department, Fascinating Snakes of India, Human-Elephant Conflict, and The Role of Bio-technology in Wildlife Conservation.
