Man complains of syringe attack by gang, robbery

The men pierced him with a syringe, poured a liquid into his mouth and fled after snatching his wallet
Hyderabad: A 23-year-old youth has complained that he was attacked by three strangers on Tuesday morning. He said the men pierced him with a syringe, poured a liquid into his mouth and fled after snatching his wallet containing Rs 5,000, a gold ring and a mobile phone. The incident happened near the Rajiv Gruhakalpa complex in Nizampet area.
The victim, Shekar, came running to his room at the Rajiv Gruhakalpa complex and informed his neighbours, who took him to a private hospital in KPHB.
Shekar, who belongs to Nalgonda district, is an attender at the Kesineni Travels office at Kukatpally Housing Board.
Police said that on Tuesday at around 9.30 Shekar went out from his room. After sometime he came back running to the residential complex and told neighbours that he had been attacked by some strangers. “He was panting. When we asked what happened he said that three persons had attacked him and had pierced him with a syringe on his right hand and had poured a liquid into his mouth,” said Lakshmamma, one of his neighbours.
The strangers also grabbed his wallet containing Rs 5,000, a gold ring and a mobile phone. Neighbours shifted him to a private hospital at KPHB. He is now out of danger. “There are no external injuries. We sent his blood and sputum for testing,” said a doctor of Mamatha Hospital.
However, Shekar could not explain the incident to the police. He seemed to be confused and shocked. "He is not in a condition to speak now. Once he speaks, we will know more details. Based on that we will investigate the case," said KPHB inspector V. Srikanth Goud.
