Body of man found in open manhole in Gandhi Hospital

The body was upside down
Hyderabad: The body of an unidentified man was found in a manhole inside the new building of the Gandhi Hospital on Tuesday. Doctors in the orthopaedic ward on the seventh floor had complained of sewage blockage and hospital workers, searching for the cause, opened the manhole and found human feet in the sewage. Hospital superintendent Dr Venkakesh-warlu said, “The body was upside down. We do not know how the body got there. The police is investigating the case.”
He added that no missing complaint regarding any attendant or patient had been registered at the hospital. According to preliminary reports, the person had died four days ago.
“The manhole was not covered. The victim might have accidentally fallen into it. We recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem,” said Chilkalguda inspector Srinivasulu, adding that no identity papers were found on the body.
