Now teach kids about periods in a fun way with Barbie’s ‘Period Party’

The most favourite doll in the world has now added another item to her long accessories list which includes handbags, heels and jewellery. Barbie will now also come with her own line of coloured menstrual pads and liner stickers.

Nickolay Lamm, creator of Lammily – otherwise known as ‘Normal Barbie’ – has released a special ‘Period Party’ accessory kit for the doll, which will be available on lammily.com.

This special kit comprises one educational pamphlet, one pair of panties to fit Lammily doll, 18 reusable coloured pads and liners stickers and even a calendar with dot stickers.

In an interview with news.com.au , Mr Lamm explained that the purpose of the doll was to educate girls about periods from an early age. “Menstruation is still a taboo in our society,” Mr Lamm said. “More than that — sometimes it’s still used as an insult.”

“So I feel Lammily’s ‘Period Party’ can introduce kids to menstruation in a very fun and disarming way, and give parents a very useful tool,” he adds.
