Playing in a nightmare

There are around 10-15 new weapons in this expansion

At their Tokyo game show press conference, Sony revealed the first and only DLC for the critically acclaimed PS4 exclusive, Bloodborne. They also took this opportunity to announce that Bloodborne had sold 2 million copies worldwide.

The Old Hunters is set in a nightmare world, similar to the ones present in the main game. Old Hunters of the past are trapped inside this nightmare as players explore brand new locations with new weapons, items and beasts. New outfits and magic items will also be a part of this expansion.

Players will learn of the tales of the legendary hunters that roamed Yharnam and the history of the world Bloodborne is set in. Ludwig himself will be one of the bosses included in this DLC. The trailer showed various versions of bosses from the main game, hinting at a possibility of fighting them again but with completely different move-sets and attributes.

Trick weapons were a highlight of the game and with this DLC, From Software wanted to add even more extraordinary weapons to your arsenal. Simon’s Bowblade, a bow that can transform into a short blade, was heavily featured in the trailer. Other weapons include a scimitar that turns into a long range whip and a standard staff that can attach itself to a buzzsaw. In total, there are around 10-15 new weapons in this expansion.

The progression requirements for accessing this DLC are unclear but they have confirmed that this will be the only piece of add-on Bloodborne will receive. The Old Hunters will launch on 24th November 2015. A retail version called Bloodborne: The Old Hunters Edition, which includes the main game and this DLC, will also be coming in December, 2015, but there is no clarity over whether it will be available in India.
