On improving the university’s fortunes and infrastructure, Prof Podile said he would be in constant touch with the Union HRD ministry as also the ministry of science and technology, both for funds and guidance. He would aim at improving the university's world ranking.

Speaking on the recent issues plaguing UoH, he said, “I will try to preempt embarrassing situations for the university by having open and regular interactions with students as well as the staff. I know almost every teaching and non-teaching staff there by name. This will be an advantage for me.” On student politics on the campus, he would get in touch with the dean of student welfare. Prof Podile is a native of Guntur.
