CB-CID begins probe into DSP’s death
Namakkal: The CB-CID police began to probe the sudden suicidal death of the young police officer of Tiruchengode, R. Vishnupriya and the mysterious death of a Dalit youth Gokul Raj in Tiruchengode.
The Tiruchengode DSP, R.Vishnupriya, who was probing the sensitive case of the murder of the Dalit youth, was suddenly found hanging from the ceiling of her official residence last Friday.
As her suicide kicked off a furore with her father demanding a CBI probe, the Tamil Nadu government ordered a CB-CID probe into the death of the Tiruchengode DSP and the murder of the Dalit youth.
The CB-CID North zone SP, Nagajothi arrived with a ten -member investigating team in Tiruchengode. The team comprising CB-CID Salem DSP, Rajan, three inspectors and three sub-inspectors split into two squads and held detailed inquiries with the inspectors and sub-inspectors of the police stations in Tiruchengode.
Later, they visited the official residence of the Tiruchengode DSP, Vishnupriya, where she was found hanging. Meanwhile, the CB-CID ADSP Stalin will lead a team, which will now probe, into the controversial death of Dalit youth Gokul Raj. As Vishnupriya was the investigating officer in the Dalit youth murder case, her suicide is being linked to the probe into the murder case.
