Hyderabad: Putting an end to speculation that the AP police might not cooperate with the TS police for security for the Ganesh festival, the former on Monday declared that it would send 1,761 personnel to Hyderabad to help.
Senior officials from AP said that despite having the need of a large force in AP for upcoming festivals, they would provide part of their force in Hyderabad following a request.
“Despite the constraints with festivals like Tirumala Brahmotsavam, Ganesh and Bakrid, which require deployment of adequate force inside AP, a part of our force is being provided to Hyderabad city as per the request from TS police,” said a senior police official from AP.
Like last year, TS additional director general of police (law and order), R.P. Thakur had officially sent a request to the AP police. “A total of 161 officers and 1,600 men will be provided by AP police to Telangana,” said a senior cop.
