Two traders attacked, oxen seized
Two traders were attacked by the Gow Raksha Samiti at Saidabad
Hyderabad: Two traders were attacked by the Gow Raksha Samiti at Saidabad on Monday. Oxen and goats transported by the traders were taken away by the men. The vehicles were also damaged. Police has registered two FIRs.
The incident happened after the police made it clear that only cows are banned from being slaughtered. The victim alleged that the miscreants attacked him in the presence of a cop.
One of the victims said he and his sons bought three oxen and a goat from Ibrahimpatnam and was taking them in a vehicle. “We crossed three check posts without trouble since we had documents from the veterinary department. When we were stopped by police at the check post at Champapet Road we again showed our papers, but the cops asked us to change our route and go to Madannapet via Owaisi Hospital. A cop accompanied us,” he said. “A mob of around 50 of Gow Raksha Samithi workers stopped our vehicle. They also stole my oxen and goat,” said the victim.
