Accident occurred at about 4.30 pm when a team of kabaddi players was returning home

ROURKELA: At least nine kabaddi players were killed and 14 others injured when a mini truck overturned near Suarapalli on Lahunipara-Baharaposi road, under Lahunipara police station, about fifty kms from here, on Saturday evening, police said on Sunday.
While eight players had died on Saturday, one of the seriously injured breathed his last at here Ispat General Hospital (IGH) here on Sunday morning.
According to police, the accident occurred at about 4.30 pm when a team of kabaddi players from Sendhapur village of Lahunipara block was returning home in a mini truck after playing in a tournament in Dhudigaon village.
