Vizianagaram: Sitting on the footboard of a train proved costly for a passenger travelling on the Chennai-Howrah Express. He slopped off the footboard and died as the train reached Garividi railway station.
The victim was identified as S.K. Ismail, who hails from Howrah. According to the railway police, Ismail was sitting on footboard and fell off the train as it reached Garividi railway station.
Following this, the train was halted for nearly one hour. The body was shifted to the Cheepurapalli hospital for post-mortem.
