Apparently, both Mahesh and SRK were shooting at Ramoji Film City. Shah Rukh Khan, who was shooting for his upcoming Dilwale took time off to meet Mahesh Babu, his wife Namrata Shirodkar and their daughter Sitara and chatted with them for a while. Humbled by King Khan’s surprise visit, the Srimanthudu star took to Twitter to express his happiness over it. He wrote, “It was a pleasure for my crew and me to meet him and we are thrilled.” In return, SRK tweeted back saying that the pleasure was his and also added that he would again pay a visit and will have Hyderabadi food with Mahesh Babu’s family.
Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu has been keen on making his debut in Tamil cinema. Though his movies, including his recent Srimanthudu, have been dubbed in Tamil, have had a simultaneous release in Telugu and Tamil, the actor has not acted in a straight K’town movie yet. Though there were a few offers including one from ace Mani Ratnam for his historical venture Ponniyin Selvan, the project got shelved and Mahesh’s dream of entering the Kollywood market got delayed.
Officially, his latest film Brahmotsavam that was launched recently to coincide with the annual Brahmotsavam festival of Lord Balaji at Tirupati will be his first Tamil film. This bilingual film, in Telugu and Tamil, is directed by Srikanth Addala and has three hot heroines Samantha, Kajal Agarwal and Pranitha, with Rathnavelu cranking the camera.
