Bengaluru: Sania Mirza is hot and happening right now. The 28-year World No.1 doubles player is riding a crest and two back-to-back Grand Slam titles is proof of the pudding. Having won the Wimbledon and US Open doubles titles with Swiss Miss Martina Hingis, the Indian star is gunning for more glory.

"This year I had two targets. One was to get to number one and the other was to win a Slam and I did both. I think I surpassed my dream this year," said Sania, whose packed Saturday in the city included a session with the kids at Indiranagar Club, and later with Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli at an Adidas promotional event.

"I am number one in the world so I am playing my best tennis," she said revealing that she looks up to her husband Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik for inspiration. "He's a very supportive husband and a friend and it helps that we knew each other from before."
