Hyderabad: A Class I girl was given corporal punishment by her teacher for not doing her homework and making noise in the classroom, resulting in injuries to her body, her parents have complained.
The beating incident happened at St Joseph's High School in Patancheru area Friday. The parents noticed injury marks on both the hands of Yashwitha Sri in the evening.
Saturday, they approached the school management and complained about this, but there was no response, and then they approached the police with a formal complaint.
Following police intervention, the management apologised to the parents and promised them that such incidents will not recur. “Based on the investigation, we will proceed,” said Patancheru inspector Yogeswara Rao.
