The Knight XV: If you’re stuck in an ambush, the Knight will smash its way through. This gigantic SUV (made by Conquest Vehicles) is also incredibly rare — only 100 have been made. It packs strengthened steel, massive tyres, reinforced glass all around and yes, an all-inclusive media centre.

BMW’s 750 Li Sedan— $340,000: If you’re in the market for ‘plush protection’, the International Armoring Corporation is a company you should probably call first. The firm has managed to transformed the daily 750 into a tank, complete with a V8 engine that produced over 400 bhp and covered in ballistic-grade steel — even the exhaust is covered in armour. The car is good for all-terrain driving too!

Bentley Mulsanne: It costs $2 million dollars and the car is reportedly for China only (so far). The armoured version of the Mulsanne can withstand a blast from 15 kilos of TNT and it took, like the Audi, has B7 spec protection levels. The best part? The car is actually a stretch limo!

Audi’s A8L Security — $200,000: Probably the best technique of armouring a car is to transform an existing platform into a battlefield Swiss army knife. The Audi A8L is one such vehicle — packing ballistic protection, B7 armour plating and protected tyres. The “battlefield options” go to the extent of windshields detonating to help occupants exit the 500-bhp vehicle in a sticky situation.

Huron APC — $630K: If an entire nation’s army is gunning for you — the Huron APC should be on top of your armoured shopping list. The all-out armoured personnel carrier is also an ‘attack’ vehicle which means you can flee a situation, drop the kids off and return to the scene — guns blazing. The Huron can withstand small arms fire, grenades, has a machine gun on top and it can carry your entire security team inside.
