Derogatory remarks amount to misconduct, says Kerala High Court

Kochi: Kerala High Court on Friday held that derogatory remarks made by an employee against a management would amount to misconduct liable to be proceeded against in an inquiry.
Justice Shaji P. Chaly made the observation while dismissing a petition filed by an employee of the Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation challenging his suspension from service. M. Radhakrishnan of Kochi was suspended after he made some disgraceful remarks against the corporation officials at a press conference.
The petitioner was working as assistant salesman in a Maveli store. It was alleged that he made allegations against the government and the corporation and violated Rule 5 of Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation Service Rules.
