Congress dissatisfied with Election Commission's decision to allow Mann ki Baat

Congress alleged that it could be used to influence the outcome of Bihar elections

New Delhi: Expressing discontent over the Election Commission's decision to not ban Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann ki Baat', Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on Saturday said the EC should not have given permit to the programme.

"The programme should not have been permitted. This is an unfair practice to say something through a government medium,"Dikshit told ANI. "You will get time to say what you want and influence people. It can have good as well as bad influence. It is wrong to influence the people through this medium. Nothing wrong will happen if you don't do 'Mann ki Baat' for two months," he added.

The EC had on Friday rejected the Congress Party and its alliances' demand of banning Prime Minister Modi's radio programme, alleging that it could be used to influence the outcome of the Bihar Assembly elections.
