Kamal sir helped me pull off my role: Trisha
My role is very challenging. I pulled it off with Kamal sir’s help and guidance, says Trisha
Kamal Haasan was the cynosure of all eyes at the trailer launch of his much-anticipated thriller Thoongaavanam recently. Everyone who has shared the screen with Haasan in the film couldn’t stop raving about him. Rajesh, a former assistant to Haasan, has directed the movie. The Papanasam star was looking every inch stylish, which was evident when the taut and slick trailer was screened. The music by Ghibran added to the feverish pace set by editor Sham Mohammed. Gauthami’s work on costume designing, for the look of the entire film, came in for praise.
Trisha, who teams up with Haasan after Manmadhan Ambu, said, “My role is very challenging. I pulled it off with Kamal sir’s help and guidance. Initially, I was apprehensive to dub my voice although it was Kamal sir who encouraged me while we did Manmadhan… to try out dubbing. This time as well, it was he who gave me the guts to dub on my own.”

Said to be a remake of the French Film Sleepless Nights, Thoongaavanam is also being made in Telugu as Cheekati Rajyam. Prakash Raj, who returns to Tamil after a gap, says, “Kamal is a thorough professional, he gave all artistes their space on screen.” Yuhi Sethu, who plays a crucial role in the movie, stated that Thoongaavanam is a Kamal Haasan special.
“Sir was painstakingly involved in every process, including his haircut. The movie is a mix of realistic cinema laced with the right commercial elements,” he said.
Haasan, who made a short speech, remarked, “Producing a movie may be easy, but it is difficult to get the desired results without proper planning.”
