Robert Vadra off airports’ no-frisk list
New Delhi: The Modi government has knocked off the name of Robert Vadra —Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law — from the list of persons entitled to exemption from pre-embarkation checks at domestic airports across the country.
Till now, Mr Vadra was entitled to the exemption when he travelled with “SPG protectees”.
But now he will no longer be entitled to this privilege and will be frisked at Indian airports before he boards a flight.
The order was quietly issued by the government late on Tuesday evening.
Mr Vadra welcomed the move, saying, “Fantastic. I am happy with what they have done.”
He had earlier been urging the government through social media to remove his name from the list.
“I appreciate it... I hope this is a dead issue now and will not be used against me. My Best wishes,” Mr Vadra wrote on Facebook.
