Mosque notices retracted in Cyberabad
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation on Wednesday withdrew notices issued to 17 mosques located in Shashtripuram area in Cyberabad.
Cyberabad police commissioner C.V. Anand had written to the GHMC chief stating that it had come to his notice that 17 mosques had been constructed in Shastripuram in 15 years without permission and action is warranted. Telangana deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali told DC that after he came to know about the controversy that arose from the police commissioner’s letter, he had enquired with Mr Anand and also DGP Anurag Sharma and both had clarified that there was no ill intention behind writing the letter to the GHMC.
While reiterating that the TRS government was committed to secular values and it never went against religious places belonging to any community, he said he had instructed the GHMC to withdraw the notices.
Meanwhile, GHMC commissioner Somesh Kumar, in a press release, informed that in the light of withdrawal of the letter by Mr Anand, he had directed the deputy commissioner of Rajendra Nagar to avoid further action in the matter.
