Supercomputer at Boston hospital can predict your death with 95 per cent accuracy

If it says you are going to die then you probably will in the next 30 days

Now you can have a fairly accurate idea of when your time will be up, thanks to a new supercomputer at a hospital in Boston.

The terrifying machine, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, uses around 250,000 patient records to make its decidedly grim predictions. “We can predict with 96% confidence when patients are facing a high probability of dying,” Dr Steve Horng from the hospital says, according to a report published in the Metro.

“If the computer says you’re going to die, you probably will die in the next 30 days,” the Metro quotes him as saying. However, Dr Horng clarifies that artificial intelligence is not so much about replacing doctors altogether as it is about assisting the in patient care.
