Bollywood share some memories close to their heart

Bollywood actors speak about Ganesh Chaturthi and share some memories close to their heart.

Sonam Kapoor

For me, Ganesh ustsav is a time for the family to come together We have Ganpati for one and half days complete with the aarti. As a kid, our house keeper would take me and my siblings to all the Ganpatis pandals nearby. Watching, the visarjan at Juhu beach always left me fascinated.

Amrita Rao

As a kid it was a ritual to go with my Maternal uncle and my mami to Matunga area in Mumbai . We used to visit each and every pandal however small or big. The excitement was to cover as many pandals & we used to cover at least 17 to 20 in a few hours. Eating typical South Indian food served on a leaf at the Ram Mandir Ganesh pandal at Kingcircle was terrific & later gorging on the machine softy icecream cone added to the tradition. We did it for a couple of years hence it became more special.

Kunal Khemu

I remember growing up when we used to stay up late at a friends house decorating a night before bringing lord ganesha's statue home and then religiously for 10 days reaching the evening aarti and enjoying the prasad and finally dancing all the way to the lake where the visarjan would happen.Although now i see how it pollutes the ocean and lakes and seriously urge everyine to opt for eco friendly Ganesha's.

Shilpa Shetty

My son is always most excited about Ganesh Chaturthi and we bring the idol home for one and half days. Personal memories revolve around visiting Lalbagcha Raj and Rk studios Ganpati with family.

Varun Dhawan too took to Twitter to wish his fans. He posted-
