Velachery constituency has most voters, Harbour least
The Velachery constituency, with 2.90 lakh, has the highest number of voters
Chennai: As many as 75 new poll booths have been added in the draft electoral rolls released on Tuesday. This was revealed when Corporation Commissioner and District Election Officer, Vikram Kapur released the rolls in the presence of representatives of all political parties.
The Velachery constituency, with 2.90 lakh, has the highest number of voters while Harbour has the lowest number of voters at 1.76 lakh. Cumulatively, Chennai has a total of 38,28,773 eligible voters of whom 19.03 lakh are men and 19.24 lakh are women while 786 belong to the transgender category.
A total of 38,020 male and 42,055 females, along with 34 transgender voters have been included in this year’s draft rolls while at the same time 45,913 male and 39,794 female names, along with 17 transgender names, were removed from the rolls.
