Kochi: Restrictions were imposed on visitors at the collectorate from Tuesday for the smooth functioning of various departments. “Those who come to submit applications or complaints could take directions from the enquiry counter at the entrance. The measure is taken after it has come to notice that external factors are affecting day to day affairs,” collector M. G. Rajamanickam said.
On Saturday, a holiday for the collectorate, the staff reported for special duty caught a person taking pictures of documents after sneaking into the restricted area in the Establishment section.
When confronted, he claimed to be a reporter and behaved badly with the employees.
The collector also said that reports of his taking action against the staff who detained him were also false.
