Flood of 850 pleas at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's Janata Darshan
Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's Janata Darshan which was held after a gap of many months on Tuesday, was bombarded with over 850 applications from people across the state. While a majority of complaints pertained to the delay or denial of government benefits, a few were against the police department for their inaction on complaints.
Yogesh, a youth had come all the way from Mandya seeking regularisation of his job at the Mandya Medical College. He also complained that after his father, Lingegowda committed suicide recently, he had not received any relief from the district administration.
A delegation from Hassan district touched the CM's feet requesting him to give a minesterial berth to Arkalgud Congress MLA, Mr A Manju. Veteran Kannada actress, Leelavathi and her son, Mr Vinod Raj came in a serpentine queue to complain against forest department officials for evicting farmers from revenue land in Soladevanahalli village.
Mr Bhutesh from Yaradakatte village in Sira taluk of Tumakuru district, a father of five kids, put forth a demand before the CM for euthanasia following the failure of the cops to arrest the killers of his brother, Mr Ramesh. He broke down while explaining the ordeal of his family members with one of his daughters suffering from a dreaded disease.
The local police were hand-in-glove with the culprits and have not arrested them since they were said to be followers of Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T.B. Jayachandra, he claimed. Mr Siddaramaiah directed senior police officers to look into the complaint immediately.
Mr Narasimhaswamy from Pattandur Agrahara village on the outskirts of Bengaluru, claimed that his nine-year-old daughter had been sacrificed to ward off evil spirits to build an apartment. His daughter went missing on April 6 and her dead body was found near a water tank three days later. He suspected the hand of a teacher where his daughter was studying. The CM directed the cops to investigate the case.
