I wanted a government job, but, unfortunately it didn’t happen,” she said.
Nearly 15 underprivileged women from all over Chennai have enrolled for this programme. The training programme is for one month. The ‘WE’ initiative is mainly focusing on driving and security.
For security, a 30-hour training will be provided. For driving, 106 hours training will be provided. Hostel accommodation is also provided free of cost. According to Vijay Bharathi Rangarajan, chairperson, FICCI Ladies Organisation, this programme is mainly to uplift the under privileged women who have studied till class eight or nine and is unable to find any job.
“We had a one-on-one discussion with all of them. We asked them how far are they willing to go for this job. We wanted to make sure they don’t quit. So we selected accordingly,” she said.
