Death due to lack of quick treatment
The doctors advised the parents to take the child to Khammam because there was no neurologist available
Khammam: Registered Medical Practioner K. Satyanarayana administered B12 injection and sent Badavat Indraja who fell from a bench in her class back to the school. The girl fell unconscious once again and then the parents, B. Ravi and B. Vinoda, took the girl to a private hospital in Kothagudem. The doctors advised the parents to take the child to Khammam because there was no neurologist available.
The parents admitted the girl in Mamata Hospital in Khammam, where the doctors suggested that she be shifted to the MGM Hospital in Warangal where they could get free treatment.
At the MGM hospital in Warangal, doctors ran a CT scan and found that a blood clot had formed in her brain, and started treatment. However, Indraja died on Tuesday while undergoing treatment. The parents and relatives took Indraja’s body to Regella and staged a dharna in front of the school. Locals supported the parents and demanded Rs 5 lakh ex gratia from the management. Kothagudem circle inspector B. Rajgopal rushed to the spot and heard the versions of the parents and the school management.
School correspondent P. Rambabu argued that the management was not at fault. “We took her to an RMP after she fainted.” The inspector said the the body would be sent for post-mortem and a case would be filed as per the report.
