Anantapur: Sweeper rapes Class IV student

Parents took her to hospital where it was confirmed she had indeed been raped
In a shocking incident at a school in the town of Puttaparthi at Anantapur, a sweeper has been accused of raping a fourth-standard student. The crime, believed to have occured on Monday, came to light on Tuesday when parents of the girl took her to a hospital for a check-up.
The sweeper — an unauthorised employee —was filling in for his mother who had fallen sick. He has been arrested. According to police, the girl, a native of Bukkapatnam, was staying at a welfare hostel near the school.
On Monday, she is believed to have gone back to the school to fetch her slippers after class hours. Officials claim this was when accused Chinna Muthyalappa — father of two daughters — lured the child towards a bathroom and sexually assaulted her.
The girl then returned to the hostel complaining of pain but hostel authorities ignored the bleeding and assumed it was a medical condition. They then sent the girl back home.
The parents, unable to stop the bleeding, took her to hospital where it was confirmed she had indeed been raped.
District authorities have now ordered the suspension of warden K. Sreedevi for failure to react and have also suspended Puttaparthi mandal educational officer K. Bhaskar Reddy and the school’s headmaster.
