Colombia’s tattoo festival is the place to be for extreme body modifiers

The southwestern Colombian city of Caki hosted a festival for hundreds of tattoo enthusiasts from September 11 to 13, 2015. Its attendees included different types of body modifiers as well, who sported tattooed eyeballs, facial spikes, piercings and even surgically altered tongues.

Colombian artist Damian Camicero managed to turn heads in a heavily tattooed crowd with his unique and apparently painful stunt. The 29-year-old was able to suspend himself from a tree by metal hooks fixed into his skin. Incidentally, his stage name means ‘butcher’ in Spanish.

According to an interview published in the Colombian newspaper La Cronica del Quindio, Camicero said that though people may think of him as dangerous because of his appearance, he doesn’t do drugs, drink or even smoke in real life.
