Police suspect that the boat could belong to Sri Lanka

VEDARANYAM: An abandoned fibreglass boat created a flutter among local fishermen as well as security agencies at Maniyan island near the Vedaranyam shore in Nagpattinam district on Monday.
Police suspect that the boat could belong to Sri Lanka. The boat containing an eight HP Yamaha engine had no registration number.
Fishnets and a drinking water bottle containing the name of a Sri Lankan company were also found inside the seized boat. Vedaranayam coastal security group and Q branch police are investigating.
