Heavy rainfall for next 5 days

The southwest monsoon is currently active over Telangana and coastal Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad: A heavy rainfall warning has been issued for the next five days and a weather warning has been put out for fishermen on the AP coast for the next 24 hours. The India Meteorological Department said a low pressure area over the west central Bay of Bengal was persisting. An associated upper air cyclonic circulation is likely to become a well-marked low pressure area during the next 48 hours, it said.
“Fishermen are advised to be cautious while venturing into the sea owing to strong surface winds from the north westerly direction along and off north coastal Andhra Pradesh and strong surface winds from westerly direction along and off south coastal Andhra Pradesh,” read the IMD inference.
The southwest monsoon is currently active over Telangana and coastal Andhra Pradesh as per IMD update. In the next five days, moderate to rather heavy rain or thundershowers would occur at many places over Telangana and coastal AP.
In the last 24 hours, rain occurred at many places over Telangana and coastal Andhra Pradesh. More than 50 per cent of the stations recorded rains. In Telangana, Sirpur (t) mandal of Adilabad district recorded the maximum rainfall of seven cm followed by Sultanabad mandal of Karimnagar district and Julurpad mandal of Khammam district which recorded rainfall of six cm each.
In coastal Andhra Pradesh, Anakapalle mandal of Vishakhapatnam district recorded the maximum rainfall of nine cm each followed by Tiruvuru mandal of Krishna which recorded five cm rains.
