BENGALURU: The Parappana Agrahara police have arrested two men on charges of raping a 23-year-old woman, who works as a security guard in a private firm.
The accused have been identified as Santhosh, 21, and Anand, 24. Both are auto drivers by profession and residents of Kudlu near Parappana Agrahara. The incident reportedly took place in the house of the victim in Vasu Layout in Kudlu.
According to the complaint filed by the woman, Santhosh came to her house in an inebriated state on Sunday night and allegedly raped her twice. Later, he contacted his friend Anand, who came to the home and allegedly raped her before escaping. Santhosh was heavily drunk and fell asleep in the victim’s house. Meanwhile, the victim called some of her friends and informed the police. The police rushed to the spot and took Santhosh into custody immediately before arresting Anand.
“The woman was living alone in the house for the last one year. She was married about six years ago and has son. She had left her husband a few years ago due to differences between them. Her son was living with her mother in K R Pet in Mandya district. Santhosh was known to the victim through a common friend,” the police said.
Both the accused and the victim underwent medical tests. Further investigations are on.
