Telangana government staff want PSUs divided
The federation held a conference to seek experts’ suggestions
Hyderabad: The Telangana Public Sector Employees’ Federation on Sunday demanded bifurcation of PSUs between TS and AP within a month and vowed to intensify the agitation if the process was delayed. The federation said the Sheela Bhide Committee for PSU bifurcation had failed.
The federation held a conference to seek experts’ suggestions. It was attended by Central information commissioner Sridhar, TJAC chairman Prof. Kodandaram, Prof. G. Haragopal, TS Press Academy chairman Allam Narayana and others.
Federation chairman Mr S. Vijaya Mohan said, "Despite the Sheela Bhide Committee getting a three-month extension till August, no major progress has been made on bifurcation of PSUs so far. The extension ended on August 31 and there is no clarity whether the committee exists or not."
Mr Mohan accused the committee of deliberately delaying the bifurcation on instructions from the AP government. "The TS government should take the issue seriously and pursue the case with the Centre for early bifurcation of PSUs. The delay is harming the promotions and benefits of around 15,000 TS employees," he said.
The federation pointed out that the committee had completed bifurcation only of namesake PSUs in which there were handful of staff while keeping the major PSUs pending, like the Mineral Development Corporation, Finance Corporation, Civil Supplies Corporation, Industries and Infrastructure Corporations, which have thousands of crores of bank deposits and hundreds of acres of assets.
