Going by the latest developments, it seems like Rajini Murugan will not make it into the race

Recent Fridays have witnessed the release of big ticket flicks like Thani Oruvan, Paayum Puli and Yatchan. As announced earlier, the occasion of Vinayagar Chaturthi, which falls on September 17, is also expected to see the release of a few much-anticipated films.
GV Prakash’s Trisha Illena Nayanthara, the horror flick Maaya starring Nayanthara and Sivakarthikeyan’s Rajini Murugan were the films which were announced to hit the marquee on that occasion. However, going by the latest developments, it seems like Rajini Murugan will not make it into the race.
The Ponram-directed film which has been produced by Lingusamy’s Thirrupathi Brothers, was initially supposed to release in July, along with Dhanush’s Maari, but later backed off. Meanwhile, the grapevine has it that the makers of comic caper Mapla Singam, have plans to release their film on the same day.
