Royal Mail to issue 18 new 'Star Wars' stamps!
The stamps feature nine popular characters and also detailed illustrations of the iconic vehicles
Mumbai: It has been announced that UK’s Royal Mail will issue a set of 18 special stamps to celebrate the upcoming release of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’. According to reports, the stamps illustrated by British artist Malcolm Tween, will go on sale next month.
The stamps feature nine popular characters from the first six films and three from its forthcoming film. The artist has also incorporated secondary characters like both, the new and old droid BB-8 among others.
Darth Vader Once a Jedi, Vader went to the Dark Side and became a Sith Lord.
Yoda This Jedi Master trained many Jedi Knights, including Luke.
Obi-Wan KenobiThe Jedi Masterwho initiated Luke into the ways of the Force.
Stormtrooper The white-armoured soldiers and shock-troops of the Empire.
Han Solo Han was a smuggler by trade until joining the Rebel Alliance.
Rey Reylives by scavenging on the desert planet Jakku.
Princess Leia A Senator for Alderaan and leader of the Rebel Alliance.
The Emperor The Sith Lord, Sidious, who rules the galaxy as Emperor.
Luke Skywalker The son of Anakin, and a key fighter for the Rebel Alliance.
Boba Fett One of the most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy.
Finn Once a Stormtrooper in the forces of the First Order.
Kylo Ren A new symbol of terror, with a new kind of lightsaber.
There is also a miniature sheet of six stamps featuring detailed illustrations of the iconic Star Wars vehicles and spaceships such as the AT-AT walker, Millennium Falcon, Resistance X-wing starfighter and TIE fighter.
The stamps go on sale October 20, across eight thousand post offices across the united kingdom.
