Sheena murder: Indrani abusive by nature, claims Peter Mukerjea
Mumbai: A highly placed police source disclosed that none of the three accused, Shyamvar Rai, Indrani Mukerjea or Sanjeev Khanna, in their police statements have named Peter Mukerjea as being involved in the Sheena Bora murder case, which has ruled out any direct involvement by him.
However, former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria had previously said that they are looking into the financial trail. This will prove if Peter played any indirect role in the murder. The same source also said that Peter will most likely be turned into a witness and will help the police to understand the "conduct" of Indrani before and after the murder of Sheena.
According to media reports, Peter told the police that Indrani had a domineering attitude and was aggressive by nature. It is learnt that she would often abuse him, pressurising him to transfer the rights to properties he owned in her name.
Peter married Indrani in 2002 and she is said to have joint ownership of most of his assets. He also informed the police that Indrani mostly stayed in the UK for a long time after the alleged murder. She used to travel to Mumbai for short periods, but spent one-and-a-half years in the UK after 2012.
Indrani is in judicial custody for allegedly murdering her daughter, Sheena on April 24, 2012 and dumping her body in a forest in Raigad district of Maharashtra.
