BENGALURU: Leaders of the state unit of BJP plan to unveil the future course of action, including agitations against the state government on the plight of farmers and power crisis, during party president Amit Shah’s participation in ‘Raitha Chaitanya Yatra’ in Mysuru on Sunday.
Sources in the state unit of BJP said core committee leaders and office bearers would interact with Mr. Shah in Mysuru.
The party has also asked second-rung leaders to attend the closed-door meeting with Mr. Shah where all of them would brief him about how the Congress government in Karnataka has failed to tackle the drought situation, curtail suicide by farmers, and mismanagement of the power sector, and how the state unit would resort to a series of agitations during the second leg of ‘Raitha Chaitanya Yatra,’ in all districts and ‘Shakti kendras.’ A senior leader said at the valedictory of ‘Raitha Chaitanya Yatra,’ that the party has decided to send across a message to the state government through its president.
Prior to his address at a rally in Mysuru, Mr Shah would gather inputs from senior and second-rung leaders on issues plaguing the state and also give them tips for the second leg of ‘Raitha Chaitanya Yatra’.
They had succeeded in mobilising public opinion against the state government on its failure to curb farmers’ suicide.
The leader said during the meeting with Mr Shah, the leaders would brief Mr Shah about organisational activities in Karnataka during the last six months.
They would also update him about the membership drive and subsequent Maha Samparka Abhiyana, in which party cadre had personally approached new members for their support.
