Promo plan failing?

Balayya’s film may not get Khairatabad Ganesh as promo venue
A rather radical plan to use the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi to promote actor Balakrishna’s movie could land in trouble. The veteran is currently shooting for the film, Dictator, in a city in Europe but back home, the project’s chief writer claimed on social media that a promo of the film and a song on Lord Ganesha (from the movie) will be released on September 17 — on the day of the festival.
And the venue for the promotion? Hyderabad’s famous Khairatabad Ganesh pandal! “On 17th of September we will be releasing a song on Lord Ganesha from our movie “DICTATOR” and also the first look teaser!! Jai Ganesha. The venue would be Kairatabad Ganesh pandal!! On the auspicious day of Vinayaka Chavithi!! (sic)”, read Kona’s post.
That post has raised a few eyebrows. The question now is... will the Ganesh Utsav Committee of Khairatabad, Hyderabad allow a movie to be promoted at the venue?
“Nobody hosts such events at a place of worship. I don’t think the committee will allow them. It’s really not good to use a divine place for a film’s promotion. It could trigger controversy,” an industry source said.
Meanwhile, officials from the committee claim they don’t have a clue about a full-on promotion at the venue. Secretary of the Utsav Committee, S. Sudarshan, admitted they were contacted. “Yes, they approached us saying they will perform a pooja. But I have no idea about a song or a teaser releasing at the venue.”
