Salman Khan eyeing another South hit
A Tamil movie could just be the next big remake. Thani Oruvan, directed by Mohan Raja (who made his debut flick in Telugu) released last Friday and the movie has been a box office smash-hit. Described as an “intelligent thriller” by critics, it stars actors Jayam Ravi (Raja’s brother) and Nayanthara in the lead roles.
And now, Salman Khan is eyeing the movie’s remake rights. Close aides of Mohan Raja confirmed that a special screening of Thani Oruvan was held at Mumbai for “top decision makers” from Salman’s production firm earlier this Tuesday. It is also reliably learnt that Salman Khan himself will be watching the film while sources add that everyone’s keen on bringing Mohan Raja on board for the Hindi version too. “Raja is excited and is keeping his fingers crossed for good news from B’town”, a source revealed. And if all goes well, Mohan Raja would direct the Telugu version too with one of the top five stars from Tollywood reprising the role played by Jayam Ravi.
