Beware, ‘supremo’ Siddaramaiah will emerge soon to rattle Congress: B S Yeddyurappa

'The state government focused entirely on elections to BBMP'

Chikkamagaluru: BJP vice president B S Yeddyurappa mocked at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday, saying he would project himself as the party’s high command after the Congress grabbed the post of Mayor of BBMP with the help of JD (S).

He told the media at Kadur during “Raitha Chaitanya Yatra” that Mr Siddaramaiah would not only project himself as the high command but also claim that he brought the Congress back to power at BBMP. He, however, warned Mr Siddaramaiah “If people of the state revolt, then none can withstand it.”

Urging Mr Siddaramaiah to focus his attention on the drought situation in the state at least now, the former chief minister said: “The state government focused entirely on elections to BBMP, neglecting farmers and failed to tackle the drought situation in a proper manner.”

At the rally, Mr Yeddyurappa asked Mr Siddaramaiah to convene a special session of legislature within the next fortnight to discuss about the plight of farmers in the wake of scanty rainfall and also announce waiver of farm loans including those of banks.

He said the Chief Minister should not find fault with the Union Government but instead approach the Union Government with facts and figures to tackle the drought situation.
