Hyderabad: With rains lashing the Twin Cities for the fifth consecutive day on Friday, the problems of waterlogging and inundation continued.
Waterlogging was reported near Bala Nagar, Gachibowli, Safilguda, Neredmet, Mehdipatnam, Balkampet and other areas.
Near LifeStyle in Begumpet, Hyderabad Traffic Police personnel were seen assisting GHMC staff in filling potholes and re-carpeting damaged roads.
On Friday, even though only moderate rains of around 2 cm were recorded, traffic came to a halt at several junctions due to the damaged roads.
Heavy traffic was reported at Balanagar Junction, Kukatpally Junction, from Gachibowli towards Mehdipatnam, from Fatehnagar Bridge towards Balkampet, LB Nagar, Satavahana Nagar, Habsiguda and Nacharam. Reports of vehicle breakdowns have also increased in the last few days due to the rains and stagnant water.
The GHMC control rooms are on alert and staff has been appointed to operate them 24x7.
