Neutral audience said that it did not create much impact as a movie

KOZHIKODE: Sentiments ran high at Kozhikode Sree theatre, where a houseful crowd, including K.K. Rema, wife of slain RMP leader T.P. Chandrasekharan, watched the premiere of the controversial movie ‘T P 51.’
The RMP cadre raised slogans in favour of the slain leader and a teary-eyed Rema told the media that it was a movie against political murders in the state.
The film got mixed reactions as staunch RMP supporters hailed it describing it as one of the most realistic movies in Malayalam. Neutral audience said that it did not create much impact as a movie.
However, everyone agreed that it could capture the political reality of Kerala, especially that of the turbulent North Malabar.
“As a movie it was average. But it could capture the politics of a region which is notorious for political violence. The movie surely will create a stronger sentiment in favour of the slain RMP leader,” Sree Kumar, who watched the movie said.
A good number of people had come to Kozhikode to see the movie from Vadakara, T P Chandrasekharan’s native place, as it was not released in local theatres there.
“CPM can stop the screening of the movie in many places but they cannot stop people from watching it elsewhere and understand the truth behind the murder of our beloved leader,” Dinesh Kumar, a staunch RMP supporter, said.
A police force was deployed at Sree Theatre expecting resistance from CPM cadres. However, the screening went on peacefully.
