‘Heavy rainfall’ ahead for Andhra Pradesh, Telangana
Hyderabad: The ‘heavy rainfall’ warning has been extended to isolated places in the two states while the monsoon has been active over Rayalaseema. Under its influence, a low pressure area may form during the next two to three days, IMD said.
“The trough of low pressure runs from Odisha to South Tamil Nadu across Coastal Andhra Pradesh,” it added.
For the next 48 hours, heavy rainfall would occur in isolated places in Adilabad, Nizamabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, Nalgonda, Khammam, Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Mahabubnagar and Medak of Telangana.
For AP, the heavy rainfall warning has been extended to five days for isolated places in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam East and West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore, Anantapur, Kadapa, Chittoor and Kurnool.
MROs have been directed by Telangana deputy CM Mohammed Mahmood Ali to carry out relief operations in view of the heavy rainfall across the state. Also, Coastal AP recorded heavy rains in the last 24 hours.
