Telangana to get LED TV unit worth $20 million
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday signed MoUs with Celkon and Makeno for setting up an LED TV unit in Hyderabad at an investment of $20 million. The MoU was signed during a meeting organised by CII and the TS government at Shanghai.
Two more Chinese firms, manufacturing cell phone parts and headphones, have come forward to invest in Hyderabad.
Vice president of the $40-billion Shanghai Electric Corporation, Mr Shao, met the Chief Minister. He expressed interest in setting up a manufacturing unit of high powered pumps and electrical equipment in Hyderabad.
Mr Rao invited the companies to visit Hyderabad and invest in the state. The CM, who addressed a meeting organised by CII and Telangana government in Shanghai, explained investment opportunities in the state. Around 65 Chinese companies participated in the meeting.
He spoke about the state's new single window industrial policy, availability of land bank, hassle free permissions and approvals, zero corruption etc.
He also mentioned the chasing cell in CMO to take care of processing applications of investors within 15 days.
Many industrialists evinced keen interest and expressed their desire to invest in Telangana, according to a government spokesman.
Representatives of China's top companies, including ACANA Pharma Tech, Asia Renaissance Partners, Baosteel Engineering and Technology Group, CBN Radio, China Business News, China Chinopharma, Eastern Energy and Mines Private Limited, Embrics and Co., Shanghai Boiler Works, Shanghai Electric Motor Company, Shanghai Electric Power Generation Company and several other companies participated in the meet.
