CM N Chandrababu Naidu launches Thotapalli project

The foundation stone for the project was laid in 2003

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu performs puja after releasing water to mark the inauguration of the Thotapalli Project on River Nagavali in Srikakulam district on Thursday.

The project, taken up at a cost of Rs 744 crore, will help irrigate 1,25,000 acres in Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts by the next kharif. the CM named the project after veteran freedom fighter from Srikakulam district — Gouthu Latchanna.

The foundation stone for the project was laid in 2003. Addressing farmers at a public meeting, the Chief Minister dedicated the project to the nation.

He added that linking rivers for irrigation was the Telugu Desam’s top priority and the Pattiseema project will be launched on September 16.
