Bollywood now eyes Yatchan
Vishnuvardhan has already got an offer to remake it in Hindi
We recently saw Jayam Ravi’s blockbuster Thani Oruvan making waves in Bollywood and Tollywood, causing biggies like Salman Khan to vie for a role in it. Now, there is another K’town film Yatchan, starring Arya, Kreshna, Deepa Sannidhi and Swathy Reddy, which is creating a stir in B’town even before its release. Director Vishnuvardhan has already got an offer to remake it in Hindi.
“We did not want to dub it in Telugu or Hindi since we have offers from big production houses from Bollywood to remake it in Hindi,” says producer Dhananjeyan of UTV, who releases Yatchan in 300 screens in Tamil Nadu. Vishnu’s films normally have high entertainment value, and Yatchan is no different.
Vishnu says, “The movie is based on a series which appeared in a vernacular magazine. But I have changed it and given a new treatment to screenplay to suit the visual medium.”
While Arya plays a staunch fan of actor Ajith in the movie, Kreshna is an aspiring actor whose girlfriend (played by Swathi) is a dominating personality and encourages him to pursue his dreams. How their life changes after they meet Deepa in the city forms the crux of the movie. It may be noted that Vishnu had discussions with many Bollywood stars including Akshay Kumar for a possible remake of his earlier film Arrambam with Ajith.
