Canberra: Autistic student locked in 7ft cage

The principal spent £2,400 of school funds having the 7ft by 7ft cell built in a classroom

Sydney: The head teacher of a school in Canberra has been sacked on Wednesday for locking a ten-year-old autistic boy in a cage to “calm down”.

The principal spent £2,400 of school funds having the 7ft by 7ft cell built in a classroom.

It was meant as a “quiet space” for the youngster when he was disrupting lessons, the accused teacher said, The Sun reported.

The shocking picture emerged after furious education chiefs removed the principal from her job.
